About Erez Shalem
Erez Shalem took his first steps in stand-up at the age of 25, on the stages of Tzavta and the Camel Comedy Club, and television picked him up soon after. He contributed comedy segments to Yair Lapid's show, and from 2008 to 2011 he sat on the regular panel of the entertainment programme Tzhok Me'Avoda on Channel 2, one of a group of stand-up comedians who made up the show.
Acting grew out of the comedy. In 2015 he played a teacher in the second season of Shnot HaShmonim, in 2016 he appeared in the sitcom Shutafim on Hot Comedy Central, and in 2020 he wrote and starred in The Inheritance, a series he co-created.
He also writes for the stage. His comedy Shoko Vanil, produced at the Hebrew Theatre, follows the integration of Ethiopian Jews into Israeli life, and All You Need Is a Rabbi, which he co-wrote, has had him playing the rabbi from 2016.
