Gadi Wilcherski

Behind the name Gadi Wilcherski is Idan Mor, a comedian from Haifa who began his stand-up career in 2003 at the open-stage nights of a Tel Aviv comedy club. From there he moved on to solo shows, first Ladies and Gentlemen and then, in 2009, Making Work Out of Laughter.

The persona that became his stage name was born in 2011. During the social-justice protests he appeared as a fictional character called Gadi Wilcherski and was presented as one of the leaders of the movement, and the character stayed with him in his later work. In 2014 he led the satirical campaign Tachles together with Liron Atia and Roi Mishar. In August 2016 he acted in the comedy series Partners, and from January 2017 he and the stand-up comedian Lea Lev hosted a late-night satirical radio show about the week's events on 103 FM. He played a lead role in the comedy film Bezamek, released in the summer of 2019, and in December 2021 he took part in the podcast Fathers and Swords. Outside comedy he is known for campaigning for the legalisation of cannabis.
