Hagit Ginzburg

Hagit Ginzburg (born 30 May 1982) is an Israeli press editor, journalist and stand-up comedian, an editor and writer at the newspaper Haaretz. Ginzburg is identified as a stand-up comedian dealing with the life of late singlehood, and coping with depression, anxiety and body image. She founded the women's stand-up line "Nashi ve-teheni" and the women's stand-up club at Tzavta. Ginzburg was born and raised in Be'er Sheva to a father who was an accountant and a mother who was a bookkeeper, both of whom immigrated to Israel from Argentina. She studied film at Makif Alef in Be'er Sheva. In 1996 she was accepted into the youth correspondents' team of the newspaper Ma'ariv La-No'ar and served as a youth correspondent until she was conscripted into the IDF, where she served as a data communications and encryption operator in the Air Force.

After her release from the army, Ginzburg began working as an editor at the local newspaper "Kol Ha-Negev" (later "Yedioth Ha-Negev") and studied at the acting preparatory program of Yoram Loewenstein. In 2004 she served as deputy editor of the magazine "Signon". In 2005 she moved to live in New York, where she served as editor of the supplements "Yedioth Miami" and "Yedioth Los Angeles" as part of "Yedioth America". After returning to Israel in 2006, she joined the writing team of the talk show of "Shlishiyat Mah Kashur". Since 2021 she has served as editor and theatre writer for the Galleria supplement of the newspaper Haaretz, frequently focusing on interviews with artists from the field of stand-up and comedy.

In 2015 Ginzburg began performing as a stand-up comedian. She is one of the house artists of the Camel Comedy Club. In July 2015 she founded the women's stand-up line "Nashi ve-teheni" at the Standup Factory club, with the aim of providing an equal stage for women in a field identified as male. In July 2021 Ginzburg founded the women's stand-up club at Tzavta, the first stand-up club in Israel designated for women, held on a bi-monthly basis. In 2019 she began teaching stand-up using a method she developed for using humour to process traumas and difficulties. Since 2022 Ginzburg has been performing the show "Zeh Mesubach", and since 2025 she has hosted the podcast "Lo Metupalim". Ginzburg lives in Netanya.
