About Ofer Shechter
Ofer Shechter reached stand-up after years in front of television cameras. Raised in the moshav Hadar Am, he trained at the Yoram Loewenstein Performing Arts Studio after his military service, and in 2003 he was chosen to host the youth programme Exit on Channel 10 together with Mali Levi and Michael Hanegbi. His provocative behaviour on air was one of the reasons the show was moved to cable.
Acting developed alongside the presenting. He starred in Hot 3 productions such as Telenovela Ba'am, opposite Yael Bar-Zohar, and Ha-Alufa with Yehuda Levi, and he took part in the satirical programme Shavua Sof. On film he appeared in No Exit, winner of the Wolgin award at the Jerusalem Film Festival, as well as Rabies and Cupcakes. As a dubbing actor he gave his voice to Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender and to Lightning McQueen in Cars.
He took up stand-up comedy in 2012 and has combined it with his hosting work since then. His entertainment career also brought him onto the ninth season of Rokdim Im Kokhavim, the Israeli version of Dancing with the Stars.
