Ofir Sgerski

Ofir Sgerski trained for the theatre before comedy became her main outlet. She studied theatre at Thelma Yellin and played Yochi in Nir Bergman's film HaDikduk HaPnimi. Journalism came next: from 2017 she was on the editorial team of Time Out Tel Aviv as a writer and video presenter, and from 2019 she worked as a freelance journalist for Israeli websites.

Her comedy grew out of the internet. The web series Sgorski, made with photographer and editor Sharon Benjamin, approached gender issues from a feminist and comic point of view and was the first of her projects to spread virally. In 2021 she carried the same spirit onto the stage with Sgorski: The Show, a feminist stand-up performance.
