About Reshef Levi
Reshef Levi, born in 1972, got on stage as a stand-up while still doing his military service, and the same period gave him his first writing jobs. From 1994, before he was out of uniform, he wrote comic scripts for Israeli television programmes including Zehu Ze!, Shemesh and Zahal 1.
Series of his own came next. Hadmaot Shel Amsalem (Tears of Amsalem) arrived in 2003 and the romantic comedy Ahava Colombianit, with Mili Avital, in 2004. In 2007 he made Ha-Borer (The Arbitrator) together with Shay Kanot, a show counted among the most successful in the history of Israeli television, and in 2019 he returned with the series Nechama.
Behind the camera he directed Lost Islands (2008), which was nominated for 14 Ophir Awards and won four of them, and Hunting Elephants (2013), with Patrick Stewart in the cast. The stage is part of his work too: in 2009 he became the official playwright of Habima, the national theatre of Israel.
