Carlos Ballarta
About Carlos Ballarta
Carlos Ballarta is a Mexican stand-up comedian born on November 13, 1990, in Mexico City. He grew up in Xochimilco before moving to Chicoloapan in the State of Mexico. He started performing at open mics in 2012 after transitioning from a career in voice acting and dubbing. Known for his sharp dark humor, atheism, and unfiltered takes on Mexican society, he has become one of the most distinctive voices in Latin American stand-up comedy.
Carlos Ballarta made his breakthrough on Comedy Central Latam in 2014, which introduced him to a national audience. He went on to record three Netflix specials: "El amor es de putos" (2016), "Furia nera" (2018), and "Falso profeta" (2021). In 2023 he released "Rebelde Comodino" independently on YouTube, and in January 2026 published "Tlatoani," a full-length special filmed live in Mexico City. His current touring show, "Naco Ladino," has sold out venues across Mexico, the US, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand - and he is set to become the first stand-up comedian to perform a solo show at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, scheduled for September 2026. Ballarta's comedy is characterized by cynicism, anti-religious themes, class commentary, and deeply personal storytelling rooted in growing up in a working-class household in greater CDMX. He also participated in LOL: Last One Laughing Mexico (Amazon Prime, Season 1).
Carlos Ballarta is actively touring his "Naco Ladino" show through 2026. Confirmed US dates include stops in El Paso, San Diego, Duluth GA, Newark NJ, and Denver CO. In Mexico, he is set to headline the Palacio de los Deportes in September 2026 - a historic first for a solo stand-up act at that venue. His Netflix specials and YouTube specials "Rebelde Comodino" and "Tlatoani" are available for streaming.
