About Bert Visscher
Bert Visscher trained as a teacher at the Pedagogische Academie in Winschoten, taught briefly and worked freelance for Radio Noord before the stage took over. The cabaret habit went back to his school days: in his final year of secondary school he co-founded the group Filter, which broke through at the Cameretten festival in Delft. The group did not reach the final there, but Visscher took home a personality award, and Filter went on to make four productions before it split.
Alone on stage he began with Desnoods geblinddoekt op รฉรฉn been, building his shows from bizarre characters, odd costumes and wild tirades. From Jammer onward a storyline started to hold the chaos together. Broadcasting ran in parallel: he co-presented the radio programme Liefdeslijn for KRO, presented the VARA music programme Poggibonsi and was a regular on the satirical Kopspijkers. In 1992 the association of theatre and concert hall directors gave him the Nar.
