Cindy Pieterse

Cindy Pieterse is a Dutch stand-up comedian, MC, presenter and writer, born in 1972. After starting her career as a primary school teacher, she joined the Amsterdam alternative comedy collective Comedytrain in 1997 and has been part of the scene for more than 25 years. She is a recognized voice in Dutch alternative stand-up comedy and has parallel careers as a TV comedy writer, novelist, and event host.

Cindy Pieterse joined Comedytrain in 1997, the most influential alternative stand-up comedy collective in the Netherlands, founded by Raoul Heertje. She has performed and hosted as MC at Comedytrain's regular Amsterdam shows and across the Netherlands. Beyond the stage she has written for major Dutch comedy and satirical television programs including 'Dit Was Het Nieuws', 'Even Tot Hier', Sesamstraat, 'Studio Snugger' and 'Het Sinterklaasjournaal', and contributed to LINDA. magazine, AD newspaper, Qmusic and Radio 1. In 2019 she published her debut novel 'Weigevoel', a comic novel about a goat who becomes a viral influencer, and the picture book 'Ik zag een kikker'. She works as a day chairperson and presenter for events, where her humor, warmth, and enthusiasm put speakers and audiences at ease while keeping the pace lively.

Cindy Pieterse performs regularly with Comedytrain at the comedy theater in Amsterdam and on Comedytrain's national tours, including the 'Comedytrain Speakers' touring shows that travel to theaters across the Netherlands. She also takes individual booking as a presenter, MC, and event host.
