David Linszen

David Linszen (born 1991) is a Dutch stand-up comedian and cabaret artist based in Amsterdam. He is a member of the Comedytrain collective and rose to national attention in February 2024 when he swept all three prizes at the prestigious Leids Cabaret Festival, taking the jury, audience, and student awards in a single evening with his absurdist musical act.

Linszen built his stand-up foundation through years of performing with Comedytrain at Toomler in Amsterdam, the legendary stand-up venue founded in 1990. In 2024 he won the Leids Cabaret Festival outright, defeating finalists Said El Hassnaoui and Tim Kroezen. The jury called his performance 'daring, skillful and funny.' De Volkskrant named him Comedy Talent of the Year and NRC singled him out as a rising star. He is currently developing and touring his debut full-length show 'Striptease van de Dood' (Striptease of Death), an absurdist eighty-minute piece that combines character work with the stand-up sensibility he honed at Comedytrain. He has also directed two acclaimed productions for other artists.

David Linszen is actively touring his debut show 'Striptease van de Dood' across Dutch theaters in 2026, with try-outs in Amsterdam and other cities. He also performs regularly with Comedytrain at Toomler in Amsterdam, where members rotate through live stand-up nights. Clips and trailers are available on YouTube, including footage of his Leids Cabaret Festival victory.
