Lenette van Dongen is a Dutch cabaret performer and singer, born on December 1, 1958, in Zaandam. After training as a dance teacher and running her own ballet school, she enrolled at the Academy for Kleinkunst and made her professional debut playing Sally Bowles in the musical Cabaret. Since her first solo show in 1993, she has built a career spanning more than three decades on Dutch theater stages, recognized as one of the steadier voices in classic Dutch cabaret.

Lenette van Dongen launched her solo career in December 1993 with the show 'Mag het wat zachter', followed by 'Nee, nee en nog eens nee', 'Jagadamba', 'Een echte Van Dongen' and 'Vedette'. For her music-driven show 'Rafels' and her contributions to Dutch light music she received the prestigious Gouden Harp from the Conamus foundation. In 2017 she premiered her tenth solo program 'Tegenwind', and in 2018 'Paradijskleier', which won the Poelifinario in 2019 for the most impressive Dutch cabaret program of the season. She had been previously nominated for the Poelifinario for 'Nike' (2009) and 'Tegenwind' (2016). Her comedy style blends warm storytelling, autobiographical material, and original songs in a polished theatrical format. In 2012 she also won the television talent show Maestro on national television, finishing first as a conductor.

Lenette van Dongen tours Dutch theaters regularly with her solo cabaret programs. New shows typically premiere in larger venues before traveling to mid-size theaters across the Netherlands. Her latest tour dates and tickets are announced on her official website and through Dutch theater agendas.
