About Soundos El Ahmadi
Soundos El Ahmadi is a Dutch comedian, actress, and cabaret artist born on December 20, 1981, in Amsterdam, to Moroccan parents. She studied Theater Studies at the University of Amsterdam and began performing at youth theater at age fifteen. She joined Comedytrain in 2007 and has since become one of the most prominent Dutch-Moroccan voices in Dutch comedy and theater. She is the first Dutch female comedian to receive her own Netflix special.
El Ahmadi rose to wider attention through the Dutch comedy collective Comedytrain, performing at venues including Toomlers in Amsterdam. In August 2018, she recorded her Netflix special More Soundos, filmed at Panama club in Amsterdam as part of a global Netflix stand-up project spanning 13 countries. In 2019, she appeared in Comedians of the World, the Netflix anthology series featuring 47 comedians from around the world. In 2021 she played the lead role of Amira in Meskina, a Dutch-Moroccan romantic comedy film she co-created as a passion project to bring Moroccan representation to Dutch screens. The film was released as a Netflix Original globally in March 2022. She also appeared in the series All Stars and Zonen (2020-2023). Her sixth solo theater production, Witte Ruis (White Noise), toured in the 2024/2025 season and won the Poelifinario award in the Engagement category.
Soundos El Ahmadi completed her Witte Ruis theater tour in the 2024/2025 season. After fifteen years of continuous touring she announced a break from live performance starting May 2026, with a return to theater planned for September 2027.
