Thieu Sijbers was born in Nijnsel on 20 December 1924 and died in Eindhoven on 11 September 1998. He was a cabaret artist and a performer of the Brabant song. After finishing his HBS schooling he taught physical education and Dutch, and from the 1940s he appeared regularly with cabaret and songs alongside that work.
From the end of the 1970s he was one of the driving forces behind the revival of music sung in the regional dialect of Brabant.
