About Tim van Wijngaarden
Tim van Wijngaarden went through the Evangelische Hogeschool, then studied philosophy and physics and taught at a secondary school before cabaret took over. In 1998 he founded the group Voorwaar with Reyald Bogerd and Teus Visser. The trio made five programmes, played mostly for Christian audiences and in 2002 entered the Leids Cabaret Festival, where they went out in the preliminary round.
When Voorwaar stopped in 2008 he carried on alone under the stage name Timzingt, performing in churches and at events organised by Christian organisations. Off stage he has written a column for Visie, the magazine of the Evangelische Omroep, published the book Heus niet voor elke dagboek with Ark Media and serves as an ambassador for the aid organisation Tearfund.
