Yora Rienstra

Yora Rienstra completed her training at drama school and the cabaret academy in 2006, and three years later won the Wim Sonneveldprijs competition at De Kleine Komedie, together with the audience prize. That result opened the way to a run of solo cabaret programmes, among them Aan Jou Heeft Het Niet Gelegen, We Maken Er Wat Van and Eerlijk Gezegd, which the newspaper Trouw described as a mix of character types, songs and personal stories.

Broadcasting became the second half of her work. On NPO Radio 2 she hosted Ha Die Yora and then Yora en Sander, both for BNNVARA. From 2016 to 2021 she was one of the regular presenters and makers of the BNNVARA programme Rambam on NPO 3, over four seasons, and for VPRO she made Half Holland Dakloos, a four-part documentary series about the housing crisis. She has also been a guest on programmes such as De Slimste Mens.
