Comedians born in Benoni

Benoni lies on the East Rand of Gauteng, part of the Ekurhuleni metropolitan area east of Johannesburg. Founded as a gold-mining town, it grew around a cluster of lakes and is today a mostly residential city, perhaps best known internationally as the birthplace of the Oscar-winning actor Charlize Theron.

Like much of South Africa, it sits within reach of a comedy scene that has produced world-famous performers, including comedian Urzila Carlson.
