Comedians born in Empangeni

Empangeni is a town in northern KwaZulu-Natal, set amid the sugarcane fields and forestry plantations of South Africa's subtropical east coast hinterland. Together with nearby Richards Bay, it forms part of an important agricultural and industrial district, and it functions as a regional commercial centre rather than a large city.

South African stand-up comedy is concentrated mostly in the big cities but has produced internationally celebrated performers, among them Celeste Ntuli, who comes from Empangeni.
