Lydia Prenner-Kasper

Lydia Prenner-Kasper reached cabaret by a roundabout route. She trained as an office clerk, qualified as a social pedagogue and worked in social services before the stage took over. In 2011 she was named Österreichs Jungkabarettistin, and the same year she took part in the ORF talent show Die große Chance.

She writes and composes her own programmes, and several of them opened at the Orpheum in Vienna: Red net so schiach!, then Muttitasking, subtitled aus dem Leben einer Gebärmutti, and later Weiberwellness. For the Christmas season she wrote Leise pieselt das Reh. Her singing led to Österreich rockt den Song Contest, the ORF preselection for Eurovision. On Puls 4 she joined the comedy series Sehr witzig!? with Gery Seidl and Harry Prünster, and she has also appeared on the panel show Was gibt es Neues?
