Carlos Alberto Pérez Ibarra

El Capi Perez is a Mexican comedian and television host born on December 20, 1986, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. His real name is Jesus Eduardo Perez. He rose to national prominence through the morning show Venga la Alegria on TV Azteca, where his irreverent humor and satirical sketches made him a standout personality in Mexican television comedy.

El Capi Perez studied Communication Sciences at the Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes and began his television career at TV Azteca Aguascalientes, hosting a regional grupera music program. He joined the national morning show Venga la Alegria in 2014 following the departure of a previous host, quickly becoming one of its most popular figures through sketch comedy and spontaneous humor. His success led to his own Sunday night show, La Resolana, a late-night-style format blending sketch comedy, pop culture parody, and celebrity interviews - producing over 150 episodes. In 2022 he released his Amazon Prime Video stand-up special Capi Perez: Elotes para Todos, filmed in his hometown of Aguascalientes. He participated in LOL Mexico on Amazon Prime Video as a cast member and later served as a judge on LOL Talent Show: Mexico alongside Eugenio Derbez. His comedy style is acidic and irreverent - he parodies other television programs with a distinctive northern Mexican accent and a loud, confrontational energy that earned him a loyal national fanbase.

El Capi Perez performs stand-up shows across Mexico. His Amazon Prime Video special Elotes para Todos is available to stream. He maintains an active social media presence with over 4 million Instagram followers and 6.3 million TikTok followers at @capiperez. His official YouTube channel is at @elcapiperezoficial.
