Guido Weijers

Guido Weijers is a Dutch stand-up comedian and cabaret artist born on July 30, 1977, in Boxmeer, Netherlands. He broke through in 2000 by winning the Publieksprijs (Audience Award) at Cameretten, the largest cabaret festival in the Netherlands, and has since built a career as one of the most versatile performers in Dutch comedy. His style blends philosophical reflection, sharp wit, and a warm showman quality that allows him to fill both intimate theaters and large arenas.

Weijers launched his debut full-length show, Oxymoron, in 2001. It toured until 2003 and was performed over 350 times, including at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. He followed with Myosotis! (2003) and went on to create multiple solo theatre productions over the next two decades. He has become a familiar face on Dutch national television through his Oudejaarsconferences, the prestigious annual New Year's Eve satire specials, which he delivered on SBS6 (2006-2010), KRO (2012), and RTL4 (2014, 2017, 2018). His 2024 show Momentum, described as pure one-mic stand-up, marked a return to stripped-back storytelling. Alongside his stage work, he authored the book Boekje waar je blij van wordt (Happiness: a user guide), which has sold over 30,000 copies, and runs the Masterclass Geluk, a theatrical lecture on the science of happiness. He has also raised over 300,000 euros for the Dutch Cancer Society through the Alpe d'HuZes cycling charity event.

Guido Weijers regularly tours Dutch theaters and has performed at large venues including the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. His 2024 show Momentum is currently in rotation across Dutch theater stages. He posts tour updates on Instagram (@guidoweijers) and his official website guidoweijers.nl.
