About Jochem Myjer

Jochem Myjer (born April 22, 1977, in Leiden) is one of the most beloved and commercially successful cabaret performers in the Netherlands. Known for his high-energy solo shows, warm storytelling style, and remarkable ability to connect with audiences of all ages, Myjer has built a reputation that extends far beyond the cabaret stage. He is also a bestselling children's book author - his De Gorgels series has captured the imagination of a new generation of Dutch readers and has been adapted into a popular theatrical family show touring venues across the country.

Myjer began performing while studying biology in Groningen, winning the Groninger Studenten Cabaret Festival in 1997 before dropping out to pursue cabaret full time. His breakthrough came with "Adehade" (2001-2003), a show in which he explored life with ADHD through comedy and storytelling. The show earned him recognition at the Cameretten festival in Delft in 2003, where he won all three prizes simultaneously - a feat that had never been achieved before. His follow-up show "Yeee-Haa!" (2004-2006) was performed 334 times, including two sold-out nights at the historic Carre theater in Amsterdam. Over the years Myjer has toured at arena scale, selling hundreds of thousands of tickets across multiple productions. In 2025 he returned to Carre with "Net Alsof," his first new full-length solo show since 2019, which sold out immediately and was extended with 14 additional Carre dates in 2026. Parallel to his stage career, his De Gorgels children's books became national bestsellers and spawned a theatrical production that sold more than 50,000 tickets.

Jochem Myjer tours extensively across the Netherlands and regularly performs at major venues including Koninklijk Theater Carre in Amsterdam. His current show "Net Alsof" has been extended through 2026 due to overwhelming demand. Tickets for Myjer's performances sell out quickly, so early booking is strongly recommended. In addition to his solo shows, the family production De Gorgels - based on his children's book series - visits theaters across the country throughout the year.
