Gover Meit

Stefano Keizers is the absurdist alter ego of Dutch cabaretier Gover Julius Samuel Meit. Active under this persona from 2015 to 2023, he became one of the most distinctive alternative cabaret performers of his generation in the Netherlands, building shows that sit on the border between cabaret, performance art and anti-comedy. Since March 2023 his primary alter ego is the character Donny Ronny, though he remains best known by the Stefano Keizers name.

Keizers won the Wim Sonneveldprijs at the Amsterdam Kleinkunst Festival in 2016, the most prestigious Dutch award for an emerging cabaret artist. He debuted in 2017 with the absurdist program Erg Heel, followed by the acclaimed Sorry Baby, both characterized by uncomfortable silences, abrupt tonal shifts and live experiments with the audience. In the 2022-2023 theater season he toured Hans Teeuwen, a tribute and reframing show that played on the legacy of the Dutch comedy icon. In early 2023 he was a contestant on the first season of LOL: Last One Laughing Nederland on Amazon Prime Video, hosted by Philippe Geubels and Jeroom, alongside Soundos El Ahmadi, Henry van Loon, Ruben van der Meer and others. Critics have compared his style to performance artists such as Marina Abramovic, placing him in a different lineage than mainstream Dutch stand-up.

Stefano Keizers tours Dutch theaters with his cabaret and alternative comedy programs, increasingly under his Donny Ronny persona from 2023 onward. Clips, sketches and TV appearances are collected on his official YouTube channel and his Instagram account at @stefano_keizers, where he has more than 90,000 followers.
