Hasse Brontén

Hans Roland "Hasse" Brontén, born on 19 March 1967 in Hägersten, is a Swedish stand-up comedian, scriptwriter and former police officer. He has a Swedish father and a German mother. His stand-up humor often contains references to his former profession as a police officer. He entered the Polishögskolan in 1988 and after his exam worked at, among others, the Norrmalmspolisen in Stockholm, the street drug group at Sergels torg, the Ravekommissionen and at Säpo. As a Säpo employee he was in Göteborg in plain clothes during the Göteborgskravallerna in 2001.

After taking a stand-up course at the Dramatiska Institutet, Brontén developed an interest in performing on stage. The stage work did not fit with the secret work at Säpo, and Brontén left Säpo to become a teacher at the Polishögskolan. Brontén later stopped being a police officer. He was voted newcomer of the year by Stockholm Comedy Klubb at the Svenska Stand-up-galan 2005. The same year he took part in the competition "Worlds Funniest Cop Competition" in Jacksonville, Florida, where he won third prize.

Since then he has, among other things, appeared in the TV series Robins, performed in Stockholm Live and at Skrattstock, and written scripts for TV4's 100% and TV3's Extra! Extra!. He has also appeared in the Finnish humor program Komikfabrik on YLE. On 20 March 2008 he debuted in the blue team in Parlamentet. He was in the film Snälla kriminella in 2021, and has had the podcast Snutsnack since 2017, which is about life as a police officer.
