Johan Rheborg

Johan Rheborg did not reach comedy through drama school. After a law degree from Stockholm University and a spell in advertising, he joined the comedy group Killinggänget, where he wrote scripts on his own or together with Jonas Inde. His breakthrough there was Percy Nilegård, a smug and irresponsible businessman through whom the group mocked the management philosophy of the day, and he brought the character back as one of the leads of NileCity 105,6.

In 1997 he took the title role of the space hero Kenny Starfighter in the SVT series of the same name. Later television work includes the TV4 series Hjälp!, the wealthy, self-absorbed and neurotic family man he played in Solsidan, and, in Morran & Tobias, the part of an unhinged, indifferent mother. Crime drama came later, with a lead role as police officer Tomas Ness in the Netflix series The Glass Dome.

On film he starred in Hotelliggaren, the screen version of the British farce Two Into One, and he has been nominated for the Guldbagge as leading actor for Four Shades of Brown and for playing Claes in Orca, and for the screenplay of Four Shades of Brown. The stage has taken him into musicals such as Little Shop of Horrors and Singin' in the Rain, and in 2006 he was one of the summer hosts on Sveriges Radio P1. Viewers in the United States met him as the talking stain in a Tide advert shown during the Super Bowl.
