Mike Recine
About Mike Recine
Mike Recine is an American stand-up comedian, writer and podcaster from New Jersey who moved to New York City in 2007 to work the door at Caroline's on Broadway while grinding open mics. He has since become one of the most respected club comics in New York, building a reputation as a blue-collar storyteller with deep credits across Comedy Central, Conan, HBO and Showtime.
Mike Recine released his debut album Make It Funny, Clown in 2009. In 2010 he was nominated for an ECNY Award for Best Emerging Comedian and for Time Out New York's Joke of the Year, and in 2011 he was selected as a New Face at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. He made two stand-up appearances on Conan, in 2014 and 2016, recorded a Comedy Central Half Hour, and has writing and on-screen credits on Showtime's Flatbush Misdemeanors and HBO's Pause with Sam Jay. He has headlined Caroline's on Broadway three times and is a regular at The Comic Strip, Stand Up NY and New York Comedy Club. He co-hosts the Out For Smokes podcast with Scott Chaplain and Sean P. McCarthy and hosts the solo podcast Recine Time, started in April 2023. His comedy is dry, blue-collar storytelling with deadpan delivery and characters drawn from years of low-paying New York jobs.
Mike Recine headlines clubs across the United States with regular New York runs at Caroline's on Broadway, The Comic Strip, Stand Up NY and New York Comedy Club, plus dates at Empire Comedy in Maine, Lafayette Comedy in Louisiana and other markets. Mike Recine and Friends has appeared at the New York Comedy Festival. New episodes of the podcasts Out For Smokes and Recine Time drop weekly on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Podbean.
