Comedians born in Smithton

Smithton is the main town of the Circular Head district in the far north west of Tasmania, in one of the island's fertile pockets. Dairy farms, vegetable crops and forestry carry the local economy, and along the coast nearby at Stanley the flat topped hill known as The Nut rises straight from the sea.

Tasmania's touring shows reach towns at this end of the island. Comedian Hannah Gadsby was born in Smithton.
