Celeste Barber

Celeste Barber (born 6 May 1982) is an Australian comedian and media personality. Although she started out in acting, she later moved into comedy after a late friend encouraged her to focus on it. As a social media influencer, she found fame by creating videos satirising the image of celebrities presented to the world, juxtaposing them with her lived experience as a woman and a mother, often recreating model poses as an everyday woman.

Barber grew up in Terranora, on the far north coast of New South Wales, and trained in acting at the University of Western Sydney's Theatre Nepean, graduating in 2002. She became known for her role as paramedic Bree Matthews in the TV show All Saints (2005-2009), and stars in the lead role of the 2023 Netflix comedy Wellmania, an adaptation of Brigid Delaney's memoir, performing all her own stunts. In early January 2015 her Instagram recreations of celebrity photos began to emerge, and an imitation of a Kim Kardashian image went viral.

She is also an author, publishing Challenge Accepted in September 2018, the children's book Celeste the Giraffe Loves to Laugh in October 2019, and Flamingo Celeste is Not like the Rest in 2021, which was shortlisted for the picture book prize at the 2022 West Australian Young Readers' Book Awards. During the 2019-20 Australian bushfire season she launched a fundraiser that raised over A$50 million, making it the largest ever held on Facebook. Barber married Api Robin, and they have two sons.
