About Michael McIntyre
Michael McIntyre (born 21 February 1976 in London) is a British stand-up comedian, writer and television presenter. He is the son of Thomas Cameron McIntyre, known professionally as Ray Cameron, a Canadian comedian and comedy writer who worked in British television.
McIntyre began his stand-up career in 1999 and rose to become one of the biggest live draws in British comedy. His 2012 UK arena tour included 71 dates and drew more than 700,000 people, among them a record 10 nights at London's O2 Arena; ticketing analyst Pollstar named him the world's biggest selling comedian that year, with the tour grossing around ÂŁ21 million.
He has hosted several television shows built around stand-up, including Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow (2009 to 2011) and Michael McIntyre's Big Show, and appeared on Live at the Apollo. He also judged the fifth series of Britain's Got Talent in 2011 and presents the game show The Wheel.
