Comedians born in Fortaleza

Fortaleza, the sunlit capital of Ceará, is a city in northeastern Brazil, strung along broad Atlantic beaches that anchor a major tourism industry.

The state of Ceará enjoys a nationwide reputation for humour, and its warm, extroverted culture has produced many of Brazil's best-loved comic performers, including Edmilson Filho, Tirullipa and Tom Cavalcante. That comic heritage makes the city a natural centre for the region's fast-growing stand-up scene.
