Trindade lies in the central Brazilian state of Goiás, close to the state capital Goiânia, and is widely known as a centre of Catholic pilgrimage. Each year the romaria honouring the Divino Pai Eterno draws large crowds of devotees to the city.
Beyond the pilgrimage it is a growing city of the central plateau. The comedian Paulo Vieira was born in Trindade.
