Comedians born in Almelo

A town in the eastern Dutch province of Overijssel, Almelo lies in the Twente region and grew prosperous during the era of the textile industry that once dominated the area. Today it is a modest regional centre with a compact old core and surrounding countryside. As the Netherlands' vibrant cabaret and stand-up culture reaches beyond the big western cities, touring comedians perform at theatres and cultural centres in towns such as this.
