Comedians born in East Kilbride

Designated in 1947 as Scotland's first post-war new town, East Kilbride grew from a small village into a substantial town in South Lanarkshire, just southeast of Glasgow. It is known for its extensive shopping centre and planned residential districts.

Being so close to Glasgow, a city with a formidable comic tradition, gives residents easy access to a comedy scene, while local venues also welcome touring stand-up comedians throughout the year. East Kilbride is the hometown of comedian Craig Hill.
