Comedians born in Hackney

Hackney is a borough of inner east London that has changed sharply in recent decades and become a byword for creativity. Its population is young and diverse, its markets are busy, and its arts scene runs through parks, canals and converted warehouses. The Hackney Empire, a historic variety theatre, has been tied to live entertainment here for well over a century.

Comedy does well in the borough, and pubs, clubs and theatres across it run stand-up nights with both new and established names on the bill. Comedians born in Hackney include Judi Love.
