Comedians born in Harlow

Harlow was designated a new town in 1947 to house families from post-war London, and was planned in Essex around neighbourhoods, green wedges and public art. It is sometimes called a sculpture town for the artworks standing in its public spaces, among them pieces by leading modern sculptors.

Its theatre and community venues anchor local culture, and as comedy spreads across the southeast, touring stand-up acts appear more often in towns like this. Comedians born in Harlow include Rik Mayall.
